Hi! Also responded via message about this but just so it's here too, at this time I won't be merging this PR as it would be a pretty big pain with the way compatibility between older versions of Hat works.

Making breaking changes means I'd potentially have to split this mod into one that compiles for old versions and one that compiles for new versions, and knowing that the current build still works properly with the latest version of the game just means the effort for this fix isn't really worth it at this time.

I'll definitely include it if/when a point in time in the future comes that I need to fix more pertinent stuff or add new things and so I can properly reevaluate how to handle everything.
